The BellHOP Cafe, with their communi ty room, has been a gathering pla ce for Bellbrook meetings, Friday night mus ic, BHS “Golden Eagles” Breakfast Club, ‘Ch at with Dr Pat’ on first Wednesd ay, Coffee with a COP, book clu bs, and group Bible studies, as we ll as a quiet place to ho ok up your computer to the fr ee Wi-Fi. There will also be an aucti on for an original piece of artwo rk done by our resident artist, Karria ne. Come enjoy Mike’s favorite so up and dessert as we feature so me of the café’s past performers. We invite y ou to an evening of celebrating Mike ’s life, and as a fundraiser to ke ep the doors of the Café op en. Frien ds of the BellHOP Café, along wi th His family, would like to hon or Mike’s wish. But as fa te would have it, Mike passed on to a n ew life on February 12, 2020. His desire was to celebra te his 70th birthday with all of y ou, June 25, 2020. And from th is, the BellHOP Café was planted in t he heart of Bellbrook. He ma de you feel that you were h is best friend. And it didn ’t matter who you were, child or seni or, rich or poor, because everyone w as rich in Mike’s eyes. Or maybe y ou just wanted a kind face to welco me you in. If y ou had a problem you came to ta lk to Mike. A m an of vision with a love f or people, nature, and his God.

Mike’s passion was prayer, and taki ng up that mantle he led t he local ‘National Day of Prayer’. He regular ly attended the ‘Bellbrook Council Meetings’ a nd always had an encouraging word f or the new entrepreneurs and local business es. Mike was instrument al in the forming of ‘For Bellbro ok by Bellbrook’, the ‘Good Friday Cro ss Walk’ and ‘Easter Sunrise Service’. He inspir ed ongoing associations in Bellbrook such as t he ‘Bellbrook Sugarcreek Ministerial Association’ and t he ‘Optimist Club’. Mike w as the staple, the person who cou ld never say no. And there in t he midst of great coffee and Heather ’s famous scones and other delights, y ou would find Mike.

A pla ce free from the pressures of wo rk and school, alone or with fami ly and friends, a place to unwi nd and regroup. The ir dream was encouraged by friends a nd the nudge of God to go forwa rd with the BellHOP Café. The need was to uni fy the community and create a comfortab le place for people to gather. Eleven years ago, Mike and Heath er Sabin felt a move in the ir hearts, a vision for Bellbrook Oh io.
